Polly Samson and David Gilmour Discussion at Irish Book Festival

Writer Polly Samson, who is married to the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd David Gilmour, has a new book out in the UK next week called The Kindness. This is her fourth book following the successful Perfect Lives book of short stories in 2010. The Independent described the new book as a “gorgeously chilling novel about grief and betrayal.” Your humble narrator is looking forward to both reading this new book, but also one particular discussion with David and Polly in Ireland this June where they will be discussing their work together. David Gilmour’s 2015 Tour of Europe sold out pretty much instantly after going on sale at 10am 6th March to coincide with David’s 69th birthday. The tour sold out that fast that two extra nights were revealed at the Royal Albert Hall in October taking the total number of David Gilmour concerts in 2015 to ten across six venues and five countries. David Gilmour 2015 Tour and Album Officially Announced

It is with great pleasure we announce that David Gilmour’s 2015 European tour dates have been officially announced! The new David Gilmour solo album 2015 will also be released in September, so plenty to look forward to. It is yet untitled. Although we have to wait all the way until September 2015, he will be performing at 6 venues across Croatia, Italy, France, Germany and the UK. It is not known at this stage whether or not there will be any further dates announced – it says on David Gilmour’s blog that there are no other planned concerts, the site is currently down though. Excitement Builds for David Gilmour’s New Album

In the April 2015 edition of Uncut magazine, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera reveals that David Gilmour’s new studio album “sounds fantastic”. On the recording of the album, which could be released in 2015, Phil said that “it’s going very well. I think it sounds fantastic, people will be very happy.” Phil Manzanera has worked with David Gilmour often over the years and has played guitar on David’s solo tours. Phil helped produce David Gilmour’s last studio album from 2006 On An Island and also toured the world with David and the rest of the amazing band. Phil also co-wrote One Slip from Pink Floyd’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason album which you can enjoy in the video below.
