Here is an amazing concert video a fan has put together of Roger Waters The Wall live outdoors in San Francisco on May 11th 2012. Watch this multi camera concert footage. Its great!
Part 1
Part 2
Pink Floyd have always been a faceless band where the music is more important than the people who played the music and wrote the songs. However, Roger Waters was the main songwriter of the band and pretty much took over the creative side of the band in terms of writing songs after Syd Barrett’s departure after Pink Floyd’s debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Who is Roger Waters? Well, he was the bass player, one of the main singers and the principal songwriter and wrote albums such as Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall give or take a couple of songs here and there.
David Gilmour is the other main protagonist of course being the lead guitarist and every classic rock/prog band needs one of those! David is a fine example of course and, since Roger Waters left the band in the mid 1980s due to his ego getting the better of him, took over the creative output of the band and became the principal songwriter on albums like Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
So, who is Roger Waters? Now you know!

It is that time of year again when the British quality newspaper The Times publishes it’s “rich list” showing all sorts of people’s wealth that they have accumulated.
Whether you think it good or not that individuals have that sort of money, I am pleased to report that Roger Waters came in at number 22 and David Gilmour in at 27.
No doubt Roger’s tour of The Wall has helped put him £20m ahead of David!
I wouldn’t worry too much about David though as £85m is still rather a lot! lol
You can see a full list here. I would post a link to The Times but you now have to pay to view the website. Boo!
Feel free to discuss this year’s Rich List on the forum.
Back in the 1980′s when Pink Floyd originally toured The Wall live in 1980 and 1981, there was filming at some of the shows direct onto film. However, when watching the film back, Roger Waters was not too impressed with the resulting quality that he was presented with. As such, the films have never seen the light of day besides the occasional clip here and there.
Well, in several interviews over the past few months, Roger and others have been saying that the original film is being worked on with modern tools that can improve the quality much like Pink Floyd’s P.U.L.S.E. got a makeover and re-presented on DVD despite it being filmed to video tape and not the high quality film like the original Wall was filmed to.
Anyway, the current tour in 2011 is being filmed at London’s O2 arena and also in Greece at the end of the tour. Considering that Roger Waters gained sole control of the rights to the wall as part of his settlement when he left Pink Floyd, I should imagine there could be either a single DVD with an excellent feature of an original Wall show on there or, perhaps, a double DVD with lots of materials from both. I would be rather pleased with either of those options.
Anyway, take a minute to share you thoughts on this post by writing a comment below. Don’t be shy!
