...$700...$700...$700...

This is amazing and everything, but the price is ridiculous.

An amazing contents list, the price is on a par with the Roger Waters SDE

Yes but there's a world of differences between this and Roger's money-grabbing umpteenth rehash of one album.

I understand your point, but I do not 100% agree with the comment. Both projects have mastering costs, book production costs, materials for discs and custom made boxes etc. The SDE included the film, lots of video new stuff and a box that featured a unique 'painted' element of the 3,000 box "wall". The EY65-72 material has had to be collated from archives and considerable effort, I hope, put into the production of the 5.1 mixes etc and faithful re-mastering and production of the CDs and singles.

My previous one-line comment was just to indicate the benchmark for the recent sets seems to be several hundred dollars each (as opposed to the Immersion sets that were a little over one hundred dollars each).

Gotcha - I was a bit blunt. I was comparing both boxes on the interest it sparks in me, solely BUT, The Wall, no matter what extended version or hi-res blu-ray theatrical widest-screen technicolorest cut will never get better for me than the first time I heard it. With this Early Years box set, there's plenty of stuff that I will listen or watch for the first time and that is worth a lot. The price is obsene anyway, of course, but I'll start saving because I love that era and this is my favorite band.

It would be a slap in the face for everyone who says Pink Floyd understand the common man if there isn't a condensed 2CD version of this!

I think a cheaper version is being held back as punishment for the leak!

Interesting to note the 2 CD version is 1967 to 1972, whereas the full box set is 1965 to 1972

Maybe we're all giving a new meaning to the expression "collective dream". 8-[

Someone at Steve Hoffman Music Forums has made screenshots:

Which means, I'm still having that nightmare...
700 dollars to be paid at once!

That bummed me out and bought me down to Earth! :o
Well if Echoes is from the alternate mix advertised, it might defeat "Another compilation!" enough.
But I hope the official You Tube accounts get excerpts of the audio.
The only thing that can excite me now is full tracklistings. But that's months away probably, so enjoy the saving this Summer!

And thanks to mastaflatch for showing the now broken 2CD.
