You could do a butcher best bits of and reordered,

In The Flesh
Run Like Hell
Mother
One Of My Turns
The Thin Ice
What Shall We Do Now?
Another Brick In The Wall part 2
Hey You
Young Lust
Comfortably Numb
Goodbye Cruel World
Goodbye Blue Sky

There you go Roger, fuck your psychiatrists and bung out a 12 track album we can sell it months before Christmas and WOAH! OK, I'll travel back to my own time and check Wiki to see if I'd won and- ah...

Makes me think of whT the album would look from the story only.
Just realised Don't Leave Me Now would fit perfectly after Goodbye Cruel World.

Why would it fit perfectly?

We're gonna find out where you fans really stand. [-X

It would be a mini story. Goodbye Cruel World could be a suicide attempt and Don't Leave Me Now could be discovery of body and waiting for paramedics. So then play Comfortably Numb!...
At least the smashed television sets going to a crying baby are more effective in my edit than as they are on the album.
Or rather they would had I included Don't Leave Me Now in my actual list!

A number of years ago when burning one's own CDs was a possibility, I hated the fact that the Wall was a one or two mins over the 80 minute max length for a blank CD and would chop out something like Vera to make it fit.

But now, I think it is too jarring to condense it and would rather imagine an expanded 'film version' of the album including the vacuum at the start, the alt version of Mother, and When The Tigers Broke Free (the way it was shoehorned into The Final Cut seemed so ham-fisted to me), What Shall We Do Now? among the Geldof-sung tracks, etc.

Ha! What if "The Wall" was as long as it was originally intended to be?! Most of "The Final Cut" was comprised with the unused material from "The Wall" project.

i wish roger was still with PF and nothing ever changed (sadface)

When releasing the Final Cut Dave said to Roger:
Look, these songs weren't good enough to be on the Wall, why release them this time?

You're very welcome. I've been researching this for years, actually. I've found some great quotes in old interviews throughout the years where they talked about the parts of The Wall they had to trim.

My apologies for being off-topic from the original post with this reply.
