And this guy has some very direct influences...he takes the general vibe of a PF song and some of the chord progressions and works them into totally new pieces. Found a great band from Mexico called EKOS. They actually started out as a Floyd cover band, but decided to try their hands at writing their own stuff since 2009 and I think they've done a stellar job.
Their 2017 album Otra Dimensión is a bit heavier, but you can definitely feel the Floyd influence.
