Here's the latest - much along the lines of the 'Easy Action' post

I bet Jessica Simpson's toenail would sell more if such a legendary thing didn't... :( Or Justin Bieber's recent mugshot.

I hope this does come out soon, it would be an interesting historical document to listen to.

I wonder what the sound quality will be like and whether Barrett is singing on it? I don't really know much about it to be honest.

Someone should write an informed article about it for the NPF website. 8)

If only more articles like that poured in on us, the site would be buzzing like it once did 8)

A review of the record has already been posted on the Facebook Birdie Hop group.

And now at the Church as well:

And it has grown into a series:

Nice link. Good to hear this. There are three distinct guitar players as far as I can tell. In the middle, Fred Frith is quite clear to pick out. He has quite an angular playing style, and his phrasing heads well away from conventional blues structure. As far as I can tell, the guitarists are most clear at;

Fred Frith: Soloing at 5:10 onwards. Middle channel Quite a bright guitar tone, and lots of odd tonalities.

Other guitarist: Blues soloing at 1:53. Also in the middle channel, quite low in the mix.

Syd Barrett: More in the right channel. A bassier, darker guitar tone. There is chugging rhythm, and a bit of tuning at 2:57. A bit of soloing at 3:55 onwards. Syd sounds a little out of tune, but is fairly easy to pick out at times.

I think Frith struggles to dial down into playing blues-orientated music. Henry Cow is nuts stuff to listen to. It owes nothing to the blues musically, and rather sits awkwardly between prog rock, avant-garde/art rock and 20th century classical music. Frith became a textural player, and latterly took to playing guitars with bits of string, or metal files and such like.

The Carlton Sandercock (Easy Action) Innerview: "It IS perhaps the last ever recorded performance of Syd Barrett... maybe Floyd fans don't see it as important."

But the good news is that the Six Hour Technicolour Dream tape has been released by Easy Action, that Syd Barrett stars (sorry, we couldn't resist the joke) on three of its tracks and although the sound quality is only slightly more than average, the fun is dripping out of our stereo boxes. Mythical drummer Twink, who is currently recording a follow-up of his legendary Think Pink album (1968), lend us some of his time to tell us the following...
