Hey Folks,
I'm new to the site- glad to have found it. And even gladder that you all created it.
Question: how do you find out what source a reissue is recorded from?
I bought the Harvest reissue of The Madcap Laughs in LP in 2014 in the US, RP1-543315.
I've searched the Internt to no avail.
Does anyone know if this reissue was sourced from the original tapes?
I guess my question also is how does a person find this info for any reissue?
Sometimes I have found the reissue source in media vignettes that announce the reissue, but this is more rare than common
Thx!
Gary

As far as I know, this information can only be found by researchFotomeow wrote:Does anyone know if this reissue was sourced from the original tapes?

and/or by trusting a record company when it states that original tapes were used.
However, record companies can't really be trusted.
Some Pink Floyd remasters from the 1990s were no remasters.
I think there's a topic about this, here on Neptune.
And the remaster of the album 'Days of Future Passed' (1967) by The Moody Blues uses an inferior 1970s remix.
