If you like "Burning Bridges" should like "Mudmen" too, is almost the same song, only with better guitar parts and no words.

It's also in a different key, if I remember correctly. But it is much better than Burning Bridges.

I give it a solid 7. Even though it is one of my least favorite PF albums, I find it to be incredibly relaxing and mellow in parts.

Yeah, I think that's what the album is about, musically.bpmolder wrote:I give it a solid 7. Even though it is one of my least favorite PF albums, I find it to be incredibly relaxing and mellow in parts.

Re: How Do You Rate Obscured By Clouds?
This is one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums.
I've found this album is really great to listen to whilst driving through the country at about 10am on one of those first days of proper Spring.
I found myself one day having to drive for about forty-five minutes and thought I'd get a little more familiar with OBC than I was at the time. It was a perfect soundtrack for the pastoral settings that flew past my windows.
Stay is my favorite Wright-penned song. I'm a little embarassed to admit this, but part of it's appeal to me is that it reminds me of a Supertramp song.
But better, of course.
I can't see how anyone could dislike the entire album, really. But that's just me. Maybe it's gotta grow on some.

I rated the album 9 out of 10 because it is my second favorite Floyd album, Piper being the first.

I cannot see how anybody could dislike Hypermagic Mountain by Lightning Bolt, but I've seen some pretty horrific reviews for it.mosespa wrote:I can't see how anyone could dislike the entire album, really. But that's just me. Maybe it's gotta grow on some.

I've also read totally mixed reviews on "Era Vulgaris", and at first I too disliked the album, but it grew on me, though it's still not a killer to me. People have diffrent tastes, and tastes change occasionally.

Re: How Do You Rate Obscured By Clouds?
Oh I just love the album, it was one of the first albums in my collection. I got totally freaked out listening to David Gilmour in "gold its in..." & "childhood's end". I listen to "Mudmen" & "Burning Bridges" almost every day... two all time personal favourites.
