NPF Live Show, Second Date Added In Glasgow, October 8th.

A second date has been added for the NPF live show, this time at Jumpin Jaks in Glasgow, Scotland on October 8th. This will be a similarly large event to the forthcoming Brighton show and slots are now available for bands (or solo artists) to perform covers of Pink Floyd and Floyd solo material. If you are interested in participating please send an e-mail to npftribute@yahoo.com with your details and what you would like to do at the show.

Please note: Jumpin Jaks is an over 18s venue, we are still waiting for confirmation as to whether this also applies to performers.

Tickets are still available for the Brighton, England NPF show. Full line-up details are available here and tickets may be purchased online here. Alternatively you can order from the box office by phone on: +44(0)1273 647100. Or visit the box office in person in Gardner Street, Brighton (off West Street).

Torrent Tracker Moving To New Server - Downtime

Downtime

Those of you who use the NPF Torrent Tracker to download all sorts of lossless SHN, FLAC and DVD offerings may be aware that there is an issue with the site: it keeps getting over loaded and crashing thus downloads may not be possible for up to 12 hours at a time whilst I am fixing it!!

As a consequence, I am going to move the tracker site over to the main NPF dedicated web server to improve reliability.

This is going to take place on the 25th June 2006. The torrent site will thus be offline for 72 hours. The tracker will be back on for 28th June 2006. I am hoping that the main NPF server will cope with the demand but, if not, I will be upgrading the server to a much higher performance server which will cost a lot more but should not crash anymore!! Depending on what happens when I move it over to the current server, I may be upgrading the whole NPF server towards the end of July 2006.

Go Download!

Whilst the server is still up, I recommend you go download all you can!! All of the David Gilmour 2006 Tour concerts are available bar the Glasgow one (please add if you have it!). There are loads of torrents so see the links below for registering to use the tracker, help with torrents and the files you are downloading.

Donations Please People

These appeals for donations are getting rather frequent now that I have removed all of the advertising from the site which make them more necessary! But your contributions are much needed and appreciated. When things settle with the servers I will be able to provide more transparency with regards to the site operating costs and donations required and received.

But, if I have to upgrade the site to a more powerful server (1GB RAM, 3TB data transfer and 80GB RAID drive) the I am afraid more contributions will be needed.

If you would rather wait until I make all the numbers clear that is fine but I would appreciate it if you could consider making a small donation if you are able.

David Gilmour Smile Single Available

Hot on the heels of some of the most memorable concerts that London's Royal Albert Hall has seen in many a year, David Gilmour this week releases Smile, his second single from the Number 1 album On An Island. A stunning intimate track, Smile was one of the first tasters of new material when it was revealed at shows at the Royal Festival Hall in 2002.

'Smile' was produced by David Gilmour with Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera and Chris Thomas and was co-written by David Gilmour and Polly Samson. The single release also contains the first ever commercial release of 'Island Jam' a track that briefly appeared as a teaser stream during the launch of David's new website at the end of last year.

Many of you who attended the UK live shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London will have picked up a very special limited edition tour wallet and label sticker. If you download Smile from any digital retailer, you will be able to burn your own CD copy of the single, and create your very own collectable limited edition version - and if you do it this week, it could give David's single a huge chart boost!
