1 - Cambridge Lays Barrett To Rest SYD
Barrett, founder of pop super-group Pink Floyd, was laid to rest at a family funeral
in Cambridge.
The service was held at Cambridge Crematorium yesterday (Monday, 17 July),
with around a dozen members of his family joining his closest friends.
Three poignant wreaths were laid in his memory.
Syd, whose real name was Roger Keith Barrett, died earlier this month
aged 60 at Addenbrooke's Hospital, after living in Cambridge for 30 years.

3 - Roger Waters Free Cork Gig DVD "Hop
The Pond" have gone and released one of the greatest fan shot video DVDs I have
ever seen. So much so that I have decided to write a news story on it!!
The DVD is of Roger Waters' gig at the Cork Festival in Ireland on 29th
June 2006 at which Pink Floyd's Nick Mason joined Roger and his band on the performance
of Dark Side of the Moon during the second half.
It was filmed using two video cameras which are edited together nicely
with excellent quality sound. The picture is exceptionally clear as it was filmed with
two top spec digital cameras!
Halfway through the concert, the band had to stop playing due to a power
failure which occurred after the "explosion" in Perfect Sense Part II. The
band used that as their intermission. Hence the title of the DVD is Roger Waters- Tripped
Out in Cork (HOP008).
This DVD video was never made with the intention to profit from it but
made by the fans for the fans and should not be sold anywhere.

5 - New NPF Magazine! I am in
the process of setting up a Magazine for Neptune Pink Floyd which will feature articles,
features and fun with a reference to Pink Floyd and related issues!
Although plans are not firmly in place yet, I would like to request that
you consider writing an article or feature for the Magazine!! My current thinking is
that it will be a monthly magazine whereby people have 3 weeks to work on submissions
and then I put it together during the last week of each month.
If you would like to learn more and/or get involved, go here.
If you are going to start working on an article or feature, let
us know here. Please don't email just yet. |
