David Gilmour's concerts which were set to take place at the Piazza San Marco in Venice on the 4th and 5th August 2006 were, of course, cancelled just before the sound check began on the 4th around 5pm.

Structural faults were blamed for the cancellation as the photo to the right shows! The scaffolding gave way! The scaffolding was erected by a reputable local company but, when the left supporting beam that holds the top part of the stage up gave way, there was no possibility of the concert going on! The structure became unsafe for the performers, audience and passers by.

The stage was dismantled carefully during the 36 hours after the stage was deemed unsafe under supervision of the Venice Fire Service.

Syd Barrett's sister Rosemary is reported as being touched by the public response to the death of her brother according to last Wednesday's Cambridge Evening News.

Rosemary Breen has been inundated with cards and letters of support from fans all over the world. Many fans are also making pilgrimages to Syd's former home in St Margaret's Square, Coleridge, Cambridge, to leave flowers and even banners outside. Although NPF does not encourage this type of behaviour as it is an invasion of the neighbours privacy.

I have added the downloads section back to the site for those of you who do not want to download high quality audio and video from the torrent tracker. I will occasionally add a video or some audio: usually when it is part of a news story, for example.

There are absolutely loads of downloads available on the forum in the HTTP Downloads section so please do feel free to have a look around there!

This is another one of those DVD videos I couldn't just let go by without mentioning it to everyone!! The sound and video is of excellent quality and is certainly worth downloading if you have broadband internet, you like Roger Waters' Ca Ira opera and you are into quality DVD bootlegs!!
