NPF Magazine - October 2006 Edition Out Now!

The second edition of the NPF Magazine is now available to read on the website. It features an article written by Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story DVD cover artist Mark Wilkinson. It also has an interview with Davy O'List formerly of the band The Nice who once stood in for Syd Barrett when he was too ill to play! [Go read magazine].

Neptune Pink Floyd have started a project to document and comment upon the entire history of Pink Floyd and it's solo members from their birth to present!

The ambitious project will involve discussing each year of the bands history for one month on the NPF Forum. This may include their gigs, songs, albums and significant events that happened to them.

As the discussions progress, the key dates, people and events will be recorded in the Encyclopedia Section of the website as part of the Timeline Project.

To conclude the project in a few years time, an eBook will be made available for free to download!

The beautiful artwork from the "Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story" DVD (region 1 USA & Canada) is to go on auction starting 1st October 2006. [More Info].

Unfortunately one of the cameras filming the NPF show at the Komedia in Brighton on Saturday vanished after the show along with the tapes of the footage so we would like to put an appeal out to anyone that may have filmed anything or taken any photos at the event to please send an e-mail to npftribute@yahoo.com so we can maybe use it for a DVD to be made available for download via the NPF site and also freely via the forum.

It doesn't matter how short your clips are, we would like to gather together as much as possible and the piece together the footage to make an as complete as possible record of the event.

One of the most acclaimed highlights of the NPF show in Brighton this year was Swedish Whistler's fantastic cover version of See Emily Play and for those who missed it or would like to hear it again we are pleased to announce that a recording of it by the band, now known as ''The Airwaves'', has just been released it as a single! The single is titled ''Games For May'' and features their cover of the Syd-era classic plus 2 original compositions.

There is an exclusive interview with Pink Floyd's guitarist and singer David Gilmour in October 2006's edition of the highly acclaimed Q Magazine.

It was out in the UK on 30th September.

Having just finished his 2006 On An Island Tour, and recorded a performance in Abbey Road Studios for a forthcoming Channel 4 (UK) documentary, Gilmour has done an interview with Q covering such issues as personal highlights and the lowlights of the past 20 years of his career.
