Publisher: Samuel Wiser, Inc., 1993, hardcover, deluxe limited edition of 500 sets, all bound in cream cloth with gilt lettering, in original clear plastic protective wrappers, ISBN: 0-87728-206-4.
Synopsis: This is the complete set of ten volumes of Aleister Crowley's magical encyclopedia, The Equinox. Crowley called The Equinox "the Encyclopedia of Initiation." The ten volumes that comprise this massive and unique set of books were originally issued privately from 1909 to 1914 and were known as "The Review of Scientific Illuminism," in which Crowley sought to break through to the essential nature of all religious teaching, and extract the kernel of unbiased truth from the miasma of dogma and superstition. He viewed The Equinox as a sort of Rosetta Stone in which the quintessence of the ancient wisdom was to be preserved in as permanent a form as possible, in the light of the dictates of the New Aeon. A complete overview of the entire Occult Tradition is undertaken in these pages. The hitherto secret lectures of The Golden Dawn are published. Methods of mental, physical, and magickal training are given, as well as rituals that Crowley either wrote or revised for individual and group workings. Instructions in the Qabalah, Yoga, Sexual Magick, the revelation of The Book of the Law and its credo for this Aeon, are all included among the instruction. Also included are poetry, short stories, contemporary essays, and book reviews. The Equinox is essential for the student of Crowley as cross references to it are found in nearly all of his writings. For the student of Magick in general, who wishes to apprehend something of the nature of the science and art, The Equinox is a valuable and treasured tool.
