Roger Waters Tour Set To Conclude. What Next?

Roger Waters Tour is coming to an end soon in December. After an amazing run of concerts which started in July 2022, This Is Not A Drill Tour is set to conclude on 9th December 2023. The final venue is Estadio Olimpico in Ecuador. The tour was billed Roger’s “first farewell tour” jokingly referring to the trend of older artists saying its their last, then doing more! The original tour schedule, for Roger Waters’ seventh solo tour, was supposed to start around the time of Covid. This was postponed. The world went into turmoil. David Gilmour Recording New Song for Teenage Cancer Trust

David Gilmour has been recording a new song for UK charity Teenage Cancer Trust at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios in London. Guy Fletcher, Dire Straits keyboard player, recorded them at the London studio which features some rather excellent vintage equipment in addition the modern stuff. Guy said, ” I recorded David yesterday for the TCT project. It was great to see him and Polly. (And their dogs!)”. David Gilmour’s wife and lyricist also posted a couple of photos from the session on her Instagram page. David has been playing his black black strat (not 0001) on the recording which, hopefully, we will know more about soon. Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets Tour – New Tickets and Dates Announced

More 2022 tour dates are now on sale! A number of new concerts have been added, and the previously scheduled dates have now been rescheduled into 2022, except for a small number. I even managed to get a couple of tickets for Manchester in April. Nick’s Announcement Set the controls for your diaries… we’ve just added more dates to our 2022 tour, all of which are going on sale right NOW! Irish fans have Dublin and Belfast shows now, and there’s an additional ten concerts in mainland Europe! Some of these are new dates and locations, and some are more of the rescheduled gigs (for example, most of the German shows). Roger Waters Tour 2010 – Concert Dates from 1984 onwards

I have been busy working on the Pink Floyd Concert Dates database over the past couple of days.  You can now browse by country, see who played at a particular venue, search by city and more.  Also added a few more concerts/gigs/performances particularly to the Roger Waters Concert Dates section.  I hope to get that section boxed off pretty soon so that I can, hopefully, start adding Roger Waters Tour Dates 2010 and 2011 to them! I shall update people via the NPF Newsletter as and when I get further details about Roger Water’s 2010 tour so make sure you are subscribed to that.

Dr David Gilmour – Honorary Doctorate for Pink Floyd’s Guitarist from Anglia Ruskin University

I am sure Mr Gilmour is delighted with getting his honorary degree from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England.  He is to be honoured for his contribution to the arts in the ceremony that takes place at the Cambridge Corn Exchange where, of course, the legendary Syd Barrett was to perform most of his solo concerts.
