The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains in Canada

Canada has been confirmed as the sixth country to host The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains, the critically acclaimed major retrospective of Pink Floyd, their music and the impact the band had on art and culture. Following its hugely successful debut at London’s prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum in 2017 (link contains pictures/spoilers), the exhibition has subsequently traveled to Italy, Germany, Spain and the United States attracting over 500,000 people and will now take residency in the cultural hub of Montreal. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London will play host to a spectacular exhibition of Pink Floyd’s history. It is called The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains. You can get your tickets here. The exhibition was originally planned to take place in Italy a couple of years ago but planning issues meant it was not feasible. At the exhibition you can experience an unprecedented, innovative and multi-sensory journey through Pink Floyd’s extraordinary worlds, chronicling the music, design and staging of the band, from their debut in the 1960s through to the present day. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience never-before-seen classic Pink Floyd concert footage and a custom-designed laser light show. Pink Floyd Exhibition in Milan Cancelled – Mortal Remains Exhibition

The ambitious Pink Floyd exhibition in Milan, Italy called “The Pink Floyd Exhibition – Their Mortal Remains”, has officially been cancelled by the promoters Evolve Devolve. For those people who have booked flights and hotels there could either be a lot of disappointment or an exciting holiday in Italy planned. Your humble narrator almost booked tickets and would be most annoyed with the cancellation, but make the most of the situation and have a great trip anyway. Pink Floyd & Hipgnosis – Masters of Album Cover Art Exhibition 2014

St Pauls Gallery in Birmingham are exhibiting fine art print album cover art including pieces from Pink Floyd, 10CC, Led Zeppelin and others. The event is a celebration of the output from design house Hipgnosis where Aubrey Powell (pictured right) and the late Storm Thorgerson led the design team to create some of the most iconic album cover art in the history of music. Pink Floyd have had a long relationship with Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis. Storm was a childhood friend of the band growing up in Cambridge and produced many of Pink Floyd’s album covers. The excellent book Mind Over Matter: The Images of Pink Floyd is an excellent document of the amazing work produced by Hipgnosis for the Pink Floyd; additionally, The Album Art of Hipgnosis also covers Pink Floyd but is a comprehensive document of some of the cutting edge creative output of Hipgnosis.
