Roger Waters is supporting Record Store Day 2024 by releasing a picture disc edition of his Dark Side of the Moon Redux. The event takes place annually and allows artists and fans alike to support independent stores selling Vinyl in the UK and USA. This year’s event takes place on 20th April 2024. There will only be 3,000 copies of this picture disc available meaning this is very much a collectors item. Each of them is individually numbered so highly collectable indeed. There were 9 separate coloured versions of the album available when originally released and this is an additional one. Some of the other coloured ones had less than 3,000. Re-Creating Pink Floyd's Mixing Desk in 2024

Pink Floyd’s Quad Sound Mixer Recreated

CH Vintage Audio’s Chris Hewitt, and Allen and Heath co founder Andy Bereza, have been busy recreating a sound mixing desk that Pink Floyd used from Pompeii in 1971 through the Dark Side of the Moon tour. The mixing desk is the piece of equipment that all the microphones and instruments plug into to blend and change the sounds with effects and EQ for example. That then plugs into the amplifiers and out through the WEM PA System. The PA systems of Pink Floyd are covered in great detail in the three books that Chris has released. David Gilmour 2024 New Album Recording A Wrap?

Lyricist Polly Samson, who is working on her husband David Gilmour’s new studio album, just posted some additional photos from in the studio. There seems to have been a flurry of activity recently. More frequently than at any other point in the year. This is speculation of course, but perhaps this flurry of activity is the musicians getting the project over the line and complete in terms of recording. Perhaps it will now go off for mastering ready for release next year. Fingers crossed. Here is an excellent set of photos, including a group shot, of what could be a wrap on the recording process. An additional Dark Side of the Moon Planetarium Show in Leicester 2024 has been announced. The National Space Centre in Leicester England has another two showings of the Dark Side of the Moon planetarium show in January 2024.
