Lyricist and writer Polly Samson wrote the lyrics to Pink Floyd’s new song Louder Than Words which appears on their forthcoming album The Endless River. This is not the first time Polly has written lyrics for Pink Floyd as she also did an excellent job on The Division Bell and her husband David Gilmour’s solo album On An Island. David Gilmour said “there is something magical about the music the three of us make together” and this song is about capturing that. Your humble narrator thinks Polly has done a great job with the lyrics. A video has appeared on Pink Floyd’s Youtube channel containing an interview with David Gilmour and Nick Mason on Pink Floyd’s new album The Endless River. It also contains a preview of the song Louder Than Words which the four part album slowly builds up to over 55 or so minutes. Gilmour also suggests that this is the final output from the band, Richard Wright’s tribute. Some of you will be very eager to get a preview of the lyrics to Louder Than Words whereas others will not want to hear until they have the full album. Pink Floyd’s new studio album The Endless River is released in multiple formats on 10th November 2014. Which one is for you? A new microsite has now been launched for the album with lots of photos, audio and information about the release. More on this below. So, what can fans expect from the new Pink Floyd album? Well it is mainly an ambient instrumental album and features one song with words by David Gilmour’s wife Polly Samson called Louder Than Words. There is one song from the Division Bell demos that has been circulating in very low quality audio for some years which can be listened to here. Pink floyd has revealed the cover art for their new album The Endless River. Their first album to be released in twenty years will now have a 10th November 2014 release date which has been pushed back from October 2014. The album’s starting point was the unused recordings from The Division Bell album recorded in 1993. There are keyboards recorded by the late Richard Wright from the original sessions augmented by re ordings from more recent times. Roger Waters, bassist and main songwriter for Pink floyd past, does not feature on the new album. The album may be a bit of a departure from the usual Pink Floyd sound and may feature soundscapes more than prog rock songs. Acoustic Sounds has shared some photos of Pink Floyd’s new studio album The Endless River they are working on for release in October 2014. Acoustic Sounds were chosen to handle the release of the double vinyl of the album and have received the master copies as you can see below from The Mastering Lab. There are of course four sides to a double vinyl recording and all four of these were sent to Acoustic Sounds at Quality Record Pressings, straight from Doug Sax and crew at The Mastering Lab northwest of Los Angeles. The follow-up to 1994’s ‘The Division Bell,’ ‘The Endless River’ marks the 15th studio album by the famed British band. Scheduled to release in October, ‘The Endless River’ finds David Gilmour and Nick Mason completing work on sessions with the late keyboardist and founding member Rick Wright.
