John Prine and Friends : Newport Festival

Roger Waters on Live at Newport 2017 New Vinyl Release [2021 release]

You may recall that Roger Waters performed at the Newport Folk festival back in 2017 and wasn’t his first appearance either. There is to be a vinyl released featuring Roger Waters amongst other artists and is available for pre-order tomorrow (23rd March 2021) and I expect it will sell out pretty quick. Discuss on the forum. Roger also played at the 2015 Newport Festival and you can view loads of photos of that performance. Watch Roger’s performance at the festival in 2017 “Hello In There” from John Prine’s 1971 debut album. (with Lucius on backing vocals) Press Release Recorded during the 2017 Newport Folk Festival, John Prine and Friends is the first-ever release of this celebrated and unique performance. Joining John on stage during this once-in-a-lifetime set were some of our very dear friends including (in order of appearance) Justin Vernon, Jim James, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, Lucius, and Roger Waters. David Gilmour Yes I Have Ghosts Vinyl RSD

David Gilmour Yes I Have Ghosts in Limited Vinyl Release

David and Romany Gilmour’s Yes I Have Ghosts single is to be released in a limited 5K batch of Vinyl as part of the next drop of Record Store Day releases. It is to be available as part of the “Black Friday” crazy which Amazon started about ten years ago in its pre-Christmas sales boost to help it compete with the high street. It is a RSD exclusive, limited to 5,000 copies, it is released by Legacy and is a 7″ single. “Yes, I Have Ghosts” is the first new song from David Gilmour in five years and features his daughter Romany on harp and vocals. The inspiration for the track was Polly Samson’s novel A Theatre for Dreamers, a Sunday Times bestseller about an idyllic poet/musician/artist community in 1960s Greece.  Check out the RSD website for further info or talk about it on the forum.

Roger Waters Us Plus Them Chart Position

Roger Waters Us+Them Chart Position Was…

Roger Waters’ Us + Them UK Chart position has come in at quite a surprising position this week as it entered the UK charts. The recording was made available in visual formats including bluray, DVD and 4k streaming. The audio was also made available as MP3, music streaming, vinyl and CD. Grab a copy. The UK album charts has Us+Them in a number 9 in its debut week. You may recall that the drummer’s album came in at number five a couple of weeks ago. It is anyone’s guess as to what Roger will think about that! Personally, I bought the bluray as I wanted to watch the concert as it was a visually stunning as it was musically. Really fantastic show, I was lucky enough to see it in Liverpool. I didn’t buy the CD or vinyl. Perhaps many others did this so, as far as I know, that...

The recording is Early Morning Henry, the auction house is Wessex Auction House, the songwriter/artist is William “Billy” Butler and the backing band was none other than Pink Floyd. After the recording session, it is noted in the recording sheet above that the recording went off with Norman never to be seen...

Nick Mason Saucerful of Secrets - Live at the Roundhouse

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets Released

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason set up his Saucerful of Secrets band back in 2018 with guitarist Lee Harris. He soon assembled a full band including Pink Floyd session bassist Guy Pratt, Gary Kemp from Spandau Ballet as the singer/guitarist and keyboardist Dom Beken. They played a gig at London’s Roundhouse theatre down in Camden and had camera’s galore to film it. It is now finally released on multiple formats for fans to revisit earlier Pink Floyd material which doesn’t often get a look in from Gilmour and Waters. Some great songs there in the set list. You can get it as video in Bluray or just the audio from CD, VInyl or online platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you think of it.
