The 1986 Colombian Volcano Appeal Benefit Concert was held on February 9, 1986, at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This concert was organized to raise funds for the victims of the devastating Nevado del Ruiz volcanic eruption in Colombia, which occurred in November 1985 and caused significant loss of life and destruction.

David Gilmour headlined the event, performing with a talented group of musicians, including John “Rabbit” Bundrick on keyboards, Michael Kamen on keyboards, Jodi Linscott on percussion and vocals, Chucho Merchan on bass, Sam Brown and Billy Nichols on vocals, and Simon Phillips on drums. Mick Ralphs also joined on guitar.

The setlist included “You Know I’m Right,” “Run Like Hell,” “Out of the Blue,” and a standout performance of “Comfortably Numb”, which featured blistering guitar solos by Gilmour. Other notable artists who performed at the concert included Pete Townshend, Annie Lennox, and the Pretenders.
