Charley Webb is an English musician, singer, and one half of the acclaimed musical duo The Webb Sisters, along with her sister Hattie Webb. Born into a musically inclined family in Kent, England, Charley was surrounded by music from a young age. Her father, an entrepreneur and drummer, and her mother, a tennis coach, fostered an environment where music was a constant presence.

Charley’s musical journey began in earnest when she and Hattie started giving recitals across the country, performing at various events including charity functions and parties, and even for British royalty such as Princess Anne and Queen Elizabeth II. This exposure led to their discovery and subsequent signing of a publishing deal with Windswept Pacific Publishing and a record deal with Universal Records.

The Webb Sisters

The Webb Sisters’ debut album, “Piece of Mind,” was recorded in Nashville and marked the beginning of their professional recording career. They later returned to the UK and worked with Mercury Records for the release of their album “Daylight Crossing,” which was produced by Steve Lipson and Youth. The album featured musicians from The Verve and was well-received, becoming ‘Record of the Week’ and ‘Album of the Week’ at BBC Radio 2.

Talented Musician

Charley’s talents extend beyond singing, as she is also proficient in playing the guitar, clarinet, and piano. Her songwriting skills, combined with her instrumental abilities, have contributed to the unique sound of The Webb Sisters.

The duo gained international recognition when they were chosen by Leonard Cohen to be part of his band for his global comeback tour. They have also collaborated with other notable artists such as Sting and Tom Petty.

Charley will join the David Gilmour tour band for the 2024 concerts which have been announced over the summer.
