David Gilmour 2024 Tour Band Musicians and Members

Who will be playing with David Gilmour on his 2024 tour for his forthcoming album Luck and Strange?

We have seen many people in the studio recording with David over the past couple of years – David’s wife and lyricist Polly Samson, who wrote most of the lyrics for the new album – kindly shared lots of photos of the recording process. There will be a deluxe photobook available. There was an interview with Rolling Stone magazine which revealed the main musicians on the tour. This could change of course.

David is only performing in four cities for the Luck and Strange Tour 2024. The tickets sold out very quickly indeed despite their high price. Similar price to other premium artists, I guess the promoters would have a lot to do with that.

The touring band will consist of Guy Pratt on bass, Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, Rob Gentry on keyboards, Adam Betts on drums, Ben Worsley on guitar, Louise Marshall on backing vocals, and Webb Sisters Charley Webb and Hattie Webb also on backing vocals. You can read a brief introduction to them all below.

Guy Pratt bassist with Saucerful of Secrets, David Gilmour solo tours and Pink Floyd

Guy Pratt : Bassist – A renowned British bassist, Guy Pratt has been a prominent session musician since the 1980s. He’s known for his work with Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, and Michael Jackson, among others. Pratt has also been part of Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, showcasing his versatile talent. Guy will join David and the rest of the band on the tour and will be a very familiar face to most fans.

Greg Phillinganes : Keyboards – An American keyboardist, Greg Phillinganes has made significant contributions to the music industry as a session musician and musical director. He’s worked with legends like Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, and Michael Jackson, and has released two solo studio albums. Having such a talented musician on the tour, and one of two keyboardists, gives a hint as to what the rest of David’s new album might sound like. Lots of keys!

He grew up in the U.K, studying Jazz and Classical piano at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and moved to Los Angeles 4 years ago. He is the 2nd keyboard player to feature in David Gilmours new touring band for the 2024 shows. Pink Floyd of course had Rick Wright playing keyboards as a band member with Jon Carin supporting on the road. Jon, of course, has been on tour with Roger Waters extensively.

Adam Betts : Drummer – Adam Betts is a drummer known for his work with the experimental rock trio Three Trapped Tigers. With a jazz degree from the Royal College of Music, he’s toured with UK funk legend James Taylor and has a passion for electronic music. Steve Gadd was also seen in the studio recording drums for David. There is no mention online of Steve being available to play on David’s tour. The band member on the tour could certainly change and evolve. I doubt Roger Waters would make an appearance though!
