David Gilmour on Anthology of The Montgolfier Brothers’ Music
Music fans are set for an emotional journey as Needle Mythology announces the release of Think Once More – A Journey With The Montgolfier Brothers. This anthology marks the first-ever retrospective of the Mancunian duo’s ethereal and minimalist music, compiling tracks from their three celebrated albums and unreleased material.

The anthology features Between Two Points, a poignant track recently interpreted by the legendary David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour on the UK chart-topping album Luck and Strange. David Gilmour’s admiration for The Montgolfier Brothers underscores the timeless appeal of their music, which he has described as “achingly beautiful” in its simplicity.
Curated by Mark Tranmer in collaboration with the family of his late bandmate Roger Quigley, this release pays heartfelt tribute to their shared musical legacy. As well as Gilmour, the anthology boasts the involvement of other notable figures, including celebrated author Jonathan Coe, who contributes insightful sleeve notes.
The collection will be available as a double LP and CD, with carefully remastered tracks by Abbey Road’s Miles Showell, ensuring pristine sound quality. This release also offers nine tracks making their vinyl debut. Fans can pre-order now, ahead of the official release date on June 5, 2025.
David Gilmour’s connection to the project, combined with the Montgolfier Brothers’ devoted following, promises a unique celebration of their enduring influence in the world of music.
