David Gilmour will likely have another tour. He is working on a new album that kicked off in March 2025. Team DG, which was assembled for his Luck and Strange Tour, has re-assembled working on his next album. Read on for all we know so far about the possibility of a new David Gilmour tour.

Is David Gilmour working on a new album in 2025?

David Gilmour’s lyricist and wife Polly Samson brough us many photos of David working on his last album Luck and Strange. The great news is she posted a couple of new photos on 24th March 2025 showing David back in the studio with his band. Polly also shared a video of the band having a jam. The full band is working on the new album. Team DG includes producer Charlie Andrew supported by Guy Pratt on bass, Rob Gentry on keyboards, Adam Betts on drums, Ben Worsley on guitar.

Where would David Gilmour tour in 2025?

David Gilmour’s Luck and Strange tour in 2024 saw him playing Italy, England, LA and New York. He is likely now very comfortable with his new band. Therefore he may well play more than a few cities on his 2025/26 tour assuming he tours the new album he is working on. I would hope he visited South America which has a huge Pink Floyd fan base. Perhaps also Canada and The Netherlands too. Who knows, maybe the David Gilmour Tour 2025 could bring him to unexpected places.

What songs would he play on another tour?

David has a vast catalogue of amazing solo and Pink Floyd songs to choose from. He is playing much more for himself and his family and his enjoyment these days rather than taking a massive hit-playing machine out on the road. His song selection is likely to feature more of the songs from Pink Floyd he wrote—the later years stuff across Division Bell and Momentary Lapse of Reason, perfect for the David Gilmour Tour in 2025.

What tours has David Gilmour done in the past?

David Gilmour, renowned for his work with Pink Floyd and his solo career, has embarked on several notable tours over the years. Here’s an overview of some of his major tours:

  • About Face Tour (1984): This tour supported his second solo album, “About Face,” and included performances across Europe and North America.
  • On an Island Tour (2006): Following the release of his solo album “On an Island,” Gilmour toured extensively, including memorable performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
  • Rattle That Lock Tour (2015-2016): This tour promoted his album “Rattle That Lock” and featured concerts in Europe, North America, and South America.
  • Luck and Strange Tour (2024): His most recent tour, which included performances at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden in New York and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

These tours have showcased Gilmour’s exceptional guitar skills. Although not a fast player, there is nobody who plays that guitar with more emotion in each bend of the strings than David Gilmour.
