David Gilmour Tour Rehearsals Under Way with Photos from Polly

I can’t imagine what it was like to firstly, not have the internet to get the latest on things and secondly, to have Polly Samson sharing her excellent photography of David Gilmour and life behind the scenes. Wonderful. Here are some images that Polly Posted on social media of David Gilmour’s tour band busy at rehearsing for the shows ahead of the 27th September start in Italy. These photos offer a glimpse into David Gilmour tour rehearsals.

In addition to Adam Betts on drums, Guy Pratt on Bass, and Ben Worsley on Guitars, there is keyboardist Greg Phillinganes, probably Rob Gentry also on keyboards, The Webb Sisters on backing vocals and possibly Louise Marshall on backing vocals too. David Gilmour Tour Overview for 2024

Not long to wait now because David Gilmour’s tour will kick off on Friday 27th September 2024 at the Circo Massimo in Italy where he will perform six nights for lucky fans at the amazing looking outdoor venue. Looking at my logs I can see David Gilmour last played in Italy on the 11th July 2016 in Verona. David and the band, crew and equipment then head over to England to perform at the world famous Royal Albert Hall starting on 9th October for six nights. Towards the end of October he is in Los Angeles for 4 nights at two separate venues, then finishes the tour in New York on the East Coast for 5 nights at Madison Square Garden in New York city. It is going to be an exciting tour because not only can us fans hear the new album, but David has now confirmed he will be performing some of the 1970s Pink Floyd classics like Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb. It would have been an unusual concert to not feature the classics that David was…. so instrumental in creating! Can’t wait.
