Just my six pennyworth and my first post for ages.

So that's why Planetrock had Storm T on the other day.

I concur, another cashing in and missed opportunity.

Maybe the PTB will get the message if we all boycott it.

For shame.

I got one which had Ummagumma disc 1 twice with disc 2 labels printed on them (there was no actual disc 2 on the box).
Actually played mine today and found out that UG is even more bung. I have both CDs but the labels areswapped over - disc 1 has disc 2 label and verce vice. I am just sending EMI an email - lets see if I get a replacement.

They can't have sold 10,000 yet coz theres still plenty left. Would a band of Floyds stature be expected shift 10,000 of these worldwide in 4 months?

Rhino. The Grateful Dead boxed sets The Golden Road and Beyond Description) are a textbook example of what needs to happen to the PF back catalogue.

I'd be surprised, though, if EMI doesn't do something with PF on Blu-Ray: they're probably saving any extras that they can squeeze out for that.

It doesn't surprise me. EMI is notoriously bad for under promotion regardless of the record companies being on the decline. They always were bad at moving units. This box set is no exception.

It was always going to be a niche product anyway. I could never figure out who exactly it was aimed at. Most Pink Floyd fans have their albums anyway so why re-buy them again just for the fancy artwork? Floyd newbies will probably start with the likes of the Echoes compilation or DSOTM and proceed from there, rather than buying the lot in one fell swoop.

It would be far better for the albums to be re-released in the manner of Piper - Remastered with the option of extra tracks for fans who want them. There has to be lots of stuff in the vaults that hasn't been officially released. That'd surely sell. And how about a booklet with the albums where the band members discuss the tracks. Or a bonus DVD of concert footage.

I like it, because now I have so much more space on my shelves.

I used to have it all on vinyl, so it is like having my vinyl back...and hey, I needed new coasters.

I quit my job without lining up a new one a couple of weeks ago...just unwinding a bit, but the monumental task of finding a new job has begun.

We are off topic.

Uh, did you buy this boxset?

It's going down?

I have seen that it has gone UP at HMV.

Are you talking about online purchases?
