The nice people at Backbeat Books sent me over a copy of the new book "Pink Floyd FAQ" by Stuart Shea. I have read a couple of chapters and must say I like the writing style of it. It is focused around essays about Pink Floyd organised into a sort of FAQ - hence the title!
It has 35 chapters of short essays on such questions ranging from their formation, influences, greatest moments for each band member and more. Features a contribution from David Gilmour's ex-wife Ginger Gilmour in the form of an afterword.
Odd use of Capital Letters in the Sub Title and an unfortunate spellig error in the first paragraph of the sample chapter so not a good start so far....Having said that, the author appears to know his onions. However, this isn't the most exciting chapter to get us all into the book. Any chance you can pursuade him to let us see another chapter, please, Keith?
Thanks a lot, Keith. Maybe he took offence to my typo complaint and took his bat home!
The contents list does make the book look interesting, however. It might well be worth a punt, I reckon. I'm particularly looking forward to Chapter 8 and wonder what delights it will include once the issue of pie crust has been fully aired...
Knowing that you have the book, Keith, would you recommend we get it?

I haven't read it all yet but it seems pretty good so far. Some books are quite boring and overly factual and dull. This one is actually readable which is nice. So yes, I would recommend it to a friend.
