From what I can say, nothing will be released until the tour ends -- that is, September. What about an October/November release date? Seems rather reasonable, and the release will probably top the charts.

From what I gather, the release of an official video from the current Wall tour would supersede a release of the original concert. Pushed back in the queue again, probably behind his "new album" as well...GeezerButler wrote:From what I can say, nothing will be released until the tour ends -- that is, September. 3 years, to be more precise I think Roger himself said in 2010 that the film was being worked on.
RonToon, do you know what cameras and lenses were used for filming in 1981?

Also, I concluded that the new clip from the Immersion box set is from the exact same night as the one in Behind The Wall documentary, just a different edit.

I respectfully disagree. Different cameras, lenses, set ups, etc.GeezerButler wrote:Also, I concluded that the new clip from the Immersion box set is from the exact same night as the one in Behind The Wall documentary, just a different edit.

I think those images prove my point...
That is quite the assumption considering that multiple shows were filmed with the main cameras in the same location each night not to mention performances that were precisely choreographed to a click track. Of the images you posted I don't see 2 identical frames.GeezerButler wrote:Also, I concluded that the new clip from the Immersion box set is from the exact same night as the one in Behind The Wall documentary, just a different edit.

Re: Pink Floyd The Wall Live 1980 DVD?
How on the earth would you be able to see two identical frames? The source material is 35mm film shot with spherical lenses, hence the aspect ratio is 1.37:1. For Behind the Wall documentary, the film/negatives were poorly scanned at low resolution with signifcant loss of frame. For the Immersion Box, the negatives (1.37:1) were cropped to 2.5:1 aspect ratio, which is quite unusual. What should be done is that the source material needs to be cropped to 2.39:1 -- that's the best option here.
Have a look at the last two screenshots. They are from the same concert.

That's not proof. The cameras were set up in the same location for multiple shows and the lighting was the same each night. The movement in the shots would need to be identical which would require a split screen comparison cropping the widescreen version to 4:3.GeezerButler wrote:Have a look at the last two screenshots. Play those two videos side-by-side and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
