:cry: So dissapointed in the vinyl selection. whats the point of rereleasing vinyl if your only going to put out the ones that can be found in any collection you throw a stone at.

division bell needs a proper rerelease.

Kieth: No official update. but they added an image to the page and it just has the covers of dsotm wywh and the wall. so I think they will be limiting it.

What's with the name? "Why Pink Floyd"
Sounds like some kind of sales person "Why Pink Floyd I hear you ask, well let me tell you....."
Bit of a crap name.

I don't know that you have to "rebuy" them. If you are serious about clipping/brickwalling etc., wait to see how they turn out. I think I am committing to the Immersion sets only at this point. I think Animals could use a remastering...

Am I the only one on NPF following this closely?

Interesting Q & A with Andy Jackson.

Key Points:

"• The BluRay discs in both the Dark Side of the Moon Immersion Edition and Wish You Were Here Immersion Editions WILL feature h-res Quad Mixes and hi-re Stereo Mixes contrary to the current press release/ online track listings. This has been personally confirmed by Andy Jackson.

• Work has already commenced on remixing and replacing instrumentation on A Momentary Lapse of Reason for possible future release on an Immersion and/or Experience Edition"

I have been following too! Thanks for sharing the update link.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason should not be an immersion or experience edition. The album is well below average as rated by Pink Floyd fans. They should do immersion/experience editions of Animals and Meddle as they are the best rated albums after Darkside, WYWH and The Wall.

Interesting point AND chart Keith! I have thought that aMLoR and DB would get some special treatment, regardless of the stats because they are Gilmour's babies and in the case of DB, there is supposed to be a lot of extra instrumental pieces...

I would be very interested to hear A Momentary Lapse of Reason re-recorded with all the shit 80s sounds removed from it. Nick's drums and the extra synth stuff really do need scraping off so we can hear the rawness of the tunes. On some of the songs, this would mean listening to silence. :-;

I wonder if its the same deal as with Kate Bush
Kate just put our a "new" album, with remixed/rerecorded versions of songs from her late80s/early 90s albums, replacing then fashionable digital elements, especially the drums, with newly recorded analog sounds
Dave could be looking back at MLoR and saying "the songs on this album are ruined by the 80s production"

Got to love political decisions! Even if the songs on AMLOR were de-eightified, I'm not convinced they'd sound much better. Though if anyone can make The Dogs of War sound less than horrible, I'd be fascinated. In a morbid sort of way :lol:
