Hello, is there anybody in there?
Is anybody bleeding? Is there anyone at home?
Come on, I know you're hiding,
I could hear you screaming (Scream)
(Cant hear the next part), Called me on the phone
Listen, I am a physician
and I can handle your condition
Like a magician, if you show me where it hurts

There is no pain you are receding, A distant ships smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves,
your lips move but I cant hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now i've got that feeling once again
I cant explain, you would not understand this is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
SOLO1
I have become comfortably numb (End of solo)

Wake up now, pull yourself togeather
Get out and meet new people (Scream)
I'm sure they'll understand
Come on, put away the shotgun,
Have another blue one(Scream)
Have your fingertips gone numb?

Goodbye, try and see the brightside
Listen to some pop groups (laughing)
read the news, go out and see some shows
SOLO2

There it is from what I can hear...please excuse spelling mistakes and lyric errors.

But these lyrics are a lot different form the Finished product... if anyone wants the song then they can get Ask me for my msn name and ill send it to them in MP3 format.

Where did you hear these lyrics?

If anyone has seen the Dark Side DVD, the old demo lyrics to Time and far better, in my opinion than the ones on the album...

There is one, "Let the grass grow in your brain..."
that is just amazing....

sounds stupid. that is what you would expect from typical average 70s prog band.

Definitely sounds like "I am a physician" to me and it sort of makes sense considering the theme of the song. Numbness and drugs etc. to cope with isolation etc.

I still think both lyrics those and the original are good. Both version could be in the album (CN part 1 and CN part 2, maybe) Is it a crazy idea??? :?

Yup, I definitely think the version of Comfortably Numb we are all familiar with is far better than the demo, but think about this - If a new band today put out a song that sounded like the demo, I think we would all be blown away. Most new bands sound like pre-packaged crap (Turn on your radio to the modern rock station and you really can't differentiate between one band and another). Anyway, the demo is very creative, very ominous in lyrics and music. What I particularly like is the fact that the chorus (Dave's part) is not repeated and the 2nd guitar solo comes off of Roger's lyrics, giving it an edgier feel.

Okay, that's all I wanted to say.

I definatley think that they got the best lyrics on the album... but I do like some of the lyrics from the demo.

I tried many times downloading this song into MY computer...but, my friend, who I think I got her hooked on The Floyd, was listening to Comfortably Numb tonight while I was talking to her on the phone, and I noticed it sounded different then I recognised the lyrics, and she was playing that demo that is on this site....I heard it over and over, and I LOVE IT! It is just really great, and, she's downloading it to CD for me...I can't wait and I just love this version!
Roger's voice is so....ummm...moving? And appropriate on it (I don't want to break forum rules with my other views on his voice in this song...) And I love the guitar at the begining...The lyrics are groovy too....

Anyway, I can't wait to get my CD of this from my friend!
Ahhh!
