Since most people that bought Dark Side of the Moon and/or The Wall never bought any other Pink Floyd albums, and perhaps aren't "true fans", which album acquisition pushes them over that threshold?
No talking, just vote.
Which one album would someone need to own to be considered a true 'fan'?

I believe that would make A Saucerful of Secrets the album in question. Fun fact: it didn't appear on the Billboard 200 until...April 2019, the same month I saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets twice.

I would say Animals. I suppose it's just one step beyond the more comfortable favourites.
(Stretching the definition of 'true fan' a bit - maybe 'Omayyad?')
