I must say an eight-disc DVD collection wouldn't go amiss.

Let's not mention the absense of the TOTP 'Emily', though.

I don't want to think about that.

YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally support the idea. Imagine this:
-rare video from studio while recording Piper ('cus the Beatles have it, so why Floyd wouldn't)
-BBC audio and video performance of Pink Floyd (again The Beatles; their BBC sessions released in 1994., or Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin BBC sessions)
-A Collection Of Great (legal) Bootlegs
-rehersals from studio and concert venues (I am a proud owner of Eric Clapton's live rehersals in 1994)
...the list goes on...
We would give money for this, and let the Hungry Dogs in EMI enjoy it.
Bon appetit!

The 8 DVD set could have so much... they could be packaged with all the video clips that were made for the band, video of The Wall Concerts would be nice.

Even background projected stuff like the Wish You Were Here animations by Gerry Scarfe, those kind of short movies would go off.

bundle it with some of the really good docos that have been made, like the Other Side of The Wall doco (that features all the goss and the infighting jibes.... like Dave being refered to as 'uninteresting and uninterested' ;))

maybe a newly made Interview series with perhaps some of the people who have been in Pink Floyd's 'life', Managers, Producers, etc etc.

Damnit, I'm all excited now :P

I would love to have BBC sessions and studio outtakes like the Beatles did. they could even do a TV documentary on it like the Beatles. so long as they do not take old syd tracks that were never done and have the band play on them now (like the Beatles with Free As A Bird and stuff) but the players would be in diff studios (unlike the Beatles)..

I'll be EMI has alot of stuff gathering dust in their vaults that they and the band could make money on (get syd some more royalties) and the fans would just adore it. I'd buy it in a second!

Thanks for all the great replies! I may have have gone off topic slightly
from the original start point!......oh Well!!!

I think the idea of a CD Box of rarities from 1965 to 1983 would
be a great addition to the collection.(I loved the concept of the Beatles
Anthology CD's.I love the idea of alternate takes, studio chat, etc.
I'd love to hear more of the ending to WYWH and listen to Stephane
Grappeli violin piece which they decided to fade out).I hope they
decide to do it someday.I suspect Roger will be the hardest to convince.
He'll think it's another cash grab by the Record Company and, perhaps,
by the other Band Members.
As for A DVD,I think a series of them, featuring anything visually
avaliable would be excellent! I do not think an Anthology DVD ,(Like
the Beatles video version),could be made. There is just too much of a void
of material between the Rock Superstar footage of 1973 and "The Wall"
Concert footage of 1980.Other than the horrid home movie footage
of the 1975 LA Show and the slightly better footage from the 1977
Anahiem Stadium and European Tour,I know of no other material
that can be used to compliment this stage of the band's existence!
And I will ALWAYS sense a lost opportunity here!.........
(You know...I think I have just thought of a new topic. It might be
more of a Commentary, (much like my WYWH-Plays well Anywhere"
Thread),but I'm going to try to formulate it so you can respond better.

Before I leave to formulate this new topic I'll ask a Question.
Does anyone around the world know of any footage of Pink Floyd,
either in interview or in concert, filmed between 1974 and 1977?

I think it's a no brainer that most of us on this board would love anything from the vaults. There has to be so much stuff hidden away.If Roger considers it just a way to make more $ for everybody and don't like it he should consider the fans and what it might mean to them.He probally would just want to spit on them again though.
