Wish You Were Here-Plays well anywhere!

Post by bmet »

Of all the recordings I've heard (LP,CD,Cassette,8 Track)-This is one
I've played the most.Lately I've been playing it at least once a week.
It goes so well in so many places. In the car,it can be played on
cold foggy nights on lonely backroads.I live close to Hamilton Ontario
Canada.-There is a mountain (Escarpment) above the city which has
several places to park your car.On a clear starry night it's great to play
Shine On .... and look out over the skyline of Hamilton, the dark emptiness of Lake Ontario, and the distant skyline of Toronto.
It plays well at home on Rainy Autumn afternoons and Snowy Winter
Nights. It just seems to suite so many moods.
If I had an ultimate place to play it! :Well apparently Neil Young has
a vast property on a Lake up North. He reportedly has,I believe, two
Barn sized buildings on either side of his house. Each building has
a Large quantity of speakers connected up to a sound system (A huge
L speaker and R speaker if you like).Apparently he puts music on
while he's out on the Lake.........I think you know where I'm going
here!!!!!!...... Wish I Was There!

Can't argue with that, WYWH is my fave - although can't listen to it while driving (too relaxing) 8)

I believe DSotM set a standard that nobody surpassed but Pink Floyd themselves and only with Wish You Were Here, personally I think it is the greatest album ever and i will never get tired of hearing it anytime anywhere.

Its not a mountain.
Blast it at Devil's Punchbowl.
What lake does Neil Young have this property on??

Oh Bong! It's you again!

My hometown is Grimsby. (For all you Brits out there,it was named
by British Empire Loyalists after Grimsby, England).

Now,back to Bong...
When I was growing up,the term "Mountain" was the common word
to use and better than always having to say :Mom! I'm going up the
Escarpment!"
The "Devil's Punchbowl",for all you readers,is a one of the places
you can park your car, stand at the mountain brow and look out over
the city of Hamilton.

I'm not sure were Neil Young's place up North is located. But I'm
told it does exist.More information may be available at one of
his websites. If I feel like it... I might investigate further.

Now Bong........get studying!!! Those mid terms are coming!

Yeah I know, I called it the Mountain for a while too, but after working with a guy from B.C., and hearing us call it the "mountain" he just kinda laughed. I've actually been calling it the escarpment for a while now but whatever, to each his own.
I've never actually been to the punchbowl, but I've heard lots of cool stuff about it.
My midtemrs are all over, but I've got a final exam tomorrow morning.
