You may have noticed, when wanting to reply, there is now a !Quick Reply" box where you can quickly trype your message and submit. There are no smilies, coloured text or other formatting in the Quick Reply.
If you want to make a normal reply like in the old forum software, then just click the "Full Editor" button. Simple as that.

Re: New Forum Software > New Posting Method
Hmm. I liked the old setting better with the full editor as the default but that's progress for ya. I miss the old feature where it used to say how many chaps had been to visit today as well

Re: New Forum Software > New Posting Method
I know a lot of forums that practice this quick reply thing. People seem to love it, but I've noticed that only forum admins know the real purpose to it.

Half an hour on, I realize I hate the new feature. It means I have to scroll the page to the "Board index" link which I am very reluctant to do, being a lazy bastard.

I think the exact same and am giving thought to disabling the new feature because it is shit and is getting in my fecking way!!!!!!!!Hudini wrote:Half an hour on, I realize I hate the new feature. So.... keep voting people and if a good number do not think it is more useful than it is troublesome then I shall feck it right off out of here!! Oh baby!
Oh yes, the statistics about chaps who have logged in during the past 24 hours needs adding back. It is a modification to the main forum software so I shall get on with that now.

And keep the word chaps. I love it, even if I'm not a chap

Re: New Forum Software > New Posting Method
Quick reply.... yes, I would of course keep the word "chaps" as it is much better than "users" as it is by default. Makes us sound like a bunch of junkies!

This might not be relevant to this thread, but "View Active Topics" is broke.

The only active topics showing for me are the "Pink Floyd themed cruise" and "Re-engineering Another Brick" threads.

Re: New Forum Software > New Posting Method
That's presumably because no-one has posted anything else since you last looked. The clue is in the word 'active'.
