Excellent. That is what I can see too which is encouraging. I think the toolbar is rather excellent myself but am very nervous it will cause people issues! I shall send an email to the newsletter list about it when I next have some other news to combine with it to educate people about using it.

I still don't have it...I'm still using Firefox. *shrug*

Am I doing something wrong?

It should just appear all by itself. Did you see Stephens post on the page before this one with the graphic of what it looks like?

You must have some sort of javascript blocker or something switched on.

Can this be used for future reference? :D

Btw Keith, I've put the fox thing into my machine and I still can't see this. :? I'll go back to my security-flaw ridden IE 6.

You must have the same mental security settings on your computer. If I were you, I would definitely ditch Internet Explorer in favour of firefox!! Give it a go for a few days, you may like it! 8)

Why 'mental'? Until a couple of years ago I had never used a computer, so IE 6 has served me well. I can watch porn, browse the interweb and even post here, with no apparent problems. Believe me, I've pushed the boundaries with what I can poke my nose into.... :-;

So, what does this firefox actually do differently?

Internet Explorer is a big bungling beast which is over-engineered to the point that it is slow and there is so much "code" that makes it work, that it is full of security holes. These holes can be exploited by criminals on the internet rather easily without you even knowing. You computer may be spewing out SPAM emails right now, or there are key loggers getting the sites you are on along with the user names and passwords. IE6 is very old and outdated so you should use a more modern browser with security holes plugged. FireFox seems to be the safest.

The FireFox "rendering engine" that makes the page appear on your computer is also better because it loads pages faster than IE.

FireFox adheres to web design standards unlike Microsoft. Hence the internet does not appear properly with Microsoft products as they are shit.

So... security, speed and quality of web!

Do you think you could tell me how to fix this? I'm trying to bring up my java console under the Tools tab...but it doesn't bring anything up.

I saw Stephen's post...that toolbar is utterly absent with me.

Utterly.

Bravo! But did it say, "You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 18)."?

It doesn't do a lot for me to be honest. I've now switched it so that it just shows the Tools in the corner and I'm ignoring it. Perhaps it might be of use to someone but so far I'm pretty indifferent about the whole thing.

Well you are here most of the time visiting the forum so perhaps would not be of any use to you. But 70% of visitors to the site are "new" visitors each month so I need to try and make them stay. So trying to make them engage with the site content a bit more whilst using twitter and facebook to spread the word about the site.

I will review it after a month and we can all vote again to see if we want to keep it or not.

You don't like Firefox or you don't like the toolbar? I've managed to block most of the new toolbar with Firefox so I'm happy now  (sorry Keith)
