computer & internet

Post by sridebye »

How would a wireless network which is getting signal from my wired LAN affect my computer/internet connection? My next door neighbour would like to create a wireless network in order to access internet- through my wired LAN (DSL modem). How would that affect my computer? Could I be having difficulties when trying to access internet at the same time and -would it slow down my connection- speed?

This is a bit of an unusual question in an introductions forum. You are not a bot are you?

It's not just a bit unusual, Keith.

Anyone who posts things related to Internet networks on an introduction forum is plain confused. :D

Maybe he posted here since it's his first post? Welcome to the forum anyway!

And one more thing Keith, I just noticed - there are tons of members who just register to advertise or post some random thing and never return. Can you do anything about it? (Not that it hurts, btw, it's just annoying).

I delete about 5 accounts per day that register to spam. Verry annoying for me.

And not just spam - hundreds of accounts never reply at all! Can't something be done about that too?

Sorry if I seem demanding, I just like things stripped down!

If they want to register and feel like part of the forum by having an account but not post, that is up to them. I do send an annual email telling people to post once else their account will be deleted though.
