Maybe we need a separate thread for more recent stuff. I have found tonnes of awesome stuff that covers the past decade (right now I'm listening to Sylvester Anfang II). But still, I am keeping an eye out for old stuff too.
Anyway, I finally got a copy of The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp, and think it is pretty interesting and slightly psychedelic.
One of my favourite post 70's psych bands, as I think I mentioned in a previous post on this thread, is The Spacious Mind. They were primarily active in the 90's with a string of 4 amazing albums:

Mind of a Brother
They released a couple more albums in the 2000's as well as some live recordings, but I feel they were past their prime by then.
Mind of a Brother (1999), I think, is their masterpiece, an album I would put in my Top 10 favourite albums of all time. Here are a few tracks from that album...
I just discovered a "local" band called The Orange Alabaster Mushroom, which sounds very 1960s psychedelic. I guess it really is mostly one person who recorded on 4-track tape machines, mostly in the 1990s.

It's not my thread, but I personally don't see why not. Just because something doesn't sound all trippy and 60ish with Farfisa organs and whatnot doesn't mean it isn't psychedelic. Just like Robyn Hitchcock, the Meat Puppets took those old 60's psychedelic influences and married them with a very 80's post punk aesthetic. The were exploring new realms of psychedelic music. I haven't listened to the Meat Puppet's entire discography, but I can tell Mirage is psychedelic.
I also looked up their page on wikipedia and learnt that there are genres such as cowpunk and psychobilly.

Ok, I was digging for some psychedelic music and I found an album by Quintessence, In Blissful Company. I've downloaded it, but yet to listen to it. Judging by the artwork, it looks like hippie Hindu obsession!
I've found that in the case of 1967 psychedelic music, there were many underrated groups who released great singles, but couldn't find the consistency to record a LP of good tracks. Regardless, these singles are classics, and I think they deserve a mention. My favourite "underground" single at the moment is perhaps Granny Takes A Trip by The Purple Gang.
It's too whimsical and annoying.
