Progressive Psychedelic Space Rock

A few months ago I was recommended the latest Ozric Tentacles album, 'Technicians of the Sacred', because of my love of prog rock and electronic music. I was impressed to say the least, what a great melding of these two genres.

That then led me to check out their previous work and I quickly found that I agreed with almost everything they have ever put out.

I then looked on Prog Archives and a few other sites for other bands of this style and soon discovered the genre that is Space Rock. Thanks to a Google Music subscription, I have added a bunch of albums to my phone and computer and have been listening to them near constantly for months now.

I've heard of Ozric Tentacles before, but none of the others. What struck me is how recent they all are - relativeley speaking. Back in 1970, these guys called it Astral Rock:
