Johnny and the sundowners

Post by nicolawildman8166 »

Hello. I was just wondering if anyone here had heard of a Johnny Wildman in 60's Cambridge based band, Johnny and the sundowners or Johnny and the burnetts. I'm his daughter and now that dad has passed I'm just trying to find out a bit of history surrounding his musical interests.

Nicola,

Sorry to hear of the passing as a trigger for the request.

I have moved your new thread from 'David Gilmour' to 'General Music Discussion' as I find no reference to Johnny Wildman in the Pink Floyd Encyclopedia by Vernon Fitch so it probably best fits in a general category rather than David Gilmour.

Good luck with the search.

Well, Pink Floyd recorded the Division Bell 1994, but they started in the 60's as well. :)

Nah, I understand your point. This almost certainly is not what Nicola asks for.

I just want to help 8)

Found this a very detailed page about CAMBRIDGE ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY. CAMBRIDGE GROUPS 1960-1982 and beyond...

They listed John Wildeman, and The Sundowners here at the site: http://www.af4k.com/cambridge.htm

That's the song, but Youtube suggest the other side "House of the Rising Sun" also from 1963 was by a band called The Sundowners from Folkestone in Kent ... but the vocals sound very, very different
