Bob KLOSE or Close?

Post by mrpinky »

Hi all.
A recent discussion with my friends, give me the possibility to ask you a question about Bob Klose.
Is correct KLOSE or CLOSE?
I named him Klose since the '80s.
Wikipedia shows Klose (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Klose)

I tried a little research.
http://www.pinkfloydsound.it/1963_1965.htm (The Pink Floyd Sound)
http://www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/galle ... 2.jpg.html (Neptune Pink Floyd)

http://www.whosdatedwho.com/celebrities ... -klose.htm
http://pinkfloydarchives.com/TourDate.htm#1966
There are some other sites that show Close.

The bibliografy. Some books show him as Close: Schaffner (Lo Scrigno dei Segreti), Miles (A Visual documentary) and Radice (Pink Floyd Story).
Some others books show him as Klose: Forcada (Mai allà del Muro), Jean Marie Leduc (Pink Floyd), Glen Povey/Ian Russell (In The Flesh). Even Nick Mason (Inside Out) shows him as Bob Klose.
Please, anyone knows better?

If Wikipedia says Klose, it's Klose. Wiki never lies.

His dad was Polish I think. Nick spelled it as Klose in his book.

Also, we could also ask if it should be "Bob" or "Rado"...

Klose. He is Croatian or something, and they have it like that. But since his family moved to England, they changed it to Close in order to look British.

I didn't really understand this.

As for languages spoken in former Yugoslavia, there you have Č and Ć, first being a hard and the other being a soft "tch". The other "hooked" letters are Š (a hard "sh"), Đ (like "j" in "juice") and Ž (like French "j'").

But I don't really know if a name Klose really originates from Yugoslavia. Klose is usually a Polish name, a famous example being Miroslav Klose.
