Are the uncompressed files too large?

Post by Xoger »

It being Christmas, and having time on my hands, I've finally got round
to looking at the "Not Pink" downloads that have been sitting on my hard
drive since whenever.

It seems to me that the sum size of the uncompressed files are very large;
more than strictly fits on an 80 min CD - especially if the 2s pauses are
added. Neither of my CD burners seem to support over burning.

So, to the points:-

1. Have I screwed up?
2. Might it not be an idea to keep the content to strictly less than 80 min
for any future projects.

As far as I know, Simpledumbpilot measured the files with atomic calipers to ensure they'd fit right down to the last microbyte. Burn without 2sec gaps and they'll fit on standard CD's.

Many of the tracks seague/blend into one another so the 2 second gaps are certainly not to be added!!! :)

Thanks guys - I'll give that a try - I'm pretty sure 2 and 3
will be OK but I'll have to double check on 1.

I'll let you know if my comment still stands......

All's well. Thanks for the tip of not adding a gap - I'd assumed that
(aprt from DSoTM) there should have been a gap. Anyhow, I'm now
the proud pocessor of three disks. Next some printing and then a search
for a large (4 disk) empty CD case.

Good work, hope you enjoy the discs :D If anyone else is having the same problem please note that each disc is 79 minutes 57 seconds and should be burnt without gaps as the only time there is a space between 2 songs in the sequencing is between Brain Damage and Wish You Were Here.
