Eclipse - The Pink Floyd Tribute

Post by bettsaj »

Eclipse are a UK based Pink Floyd tribute project that are based in and around Essex, Suffolk and Cambridge.

We are a 4 piece band with bass, Drums, Guitar and keyboards. we introduce sax and backing singers, and a second guitarist when the need requires it for the later Floyd material. Each member of the band has at least 30 years experience in live performance and recording work behind them, therefore offering a wealth of knowledge and attention to detail.

The show we are currently working on will be a 3 hour show with a 20 min break. The show will feature the performance of 2 full albums, plus all the favourites expected at a Pink Floyd tribute show.

The band start rehearsals in November as the core 4 piece to get the arrangements sorted out, and the running order of the set list.

We then pull in the second guitarist, sax player and backing singers in February to start production rehearsals. The first concert is planned for June 7th with a festival planned for the end of June (date unknown at present), we're also in negotiations to play at 2 more festivals in July next year.

The set list at present features a full performance of Animals in the same running order as the 77 In The Flesh tour, complete with all the expected sound effects, and maybe even a pig!!!

For more information please visit the band web site at: www.eclipsetribute.co.uk

Or their Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/eclipsetributeuk

Cheers, We look forward to seeing some of you on the road :-)

Guitar & Vocals – Andy Betts
Bass & Vocals – Ryan Houghton
Keyboards/Samples & Vocals – Rick Benbow
Drums – Stuart Robertson

Eclipse were born from the ashes of In the Flesh, Andy Betts previous Pink Floyd tribute. Always striving to perform the songs of Pink Floyd as accurately as possible Andy with Ryan Houghton & Stuart Robertson has formed Eclipse with the aim to re-create the feel and performance of a Pink Floyd concert from the 60’s, 70’s and beyond.
Drawing on the entire Pink Floyd back catalogue, Eclipse perform a mixture of material from the heady UFO days, right up to the majestic Division Bell and everything in between.

The shows in 2014 promise to be spectacular with some shows incorporating full performances of two classic albums, either Animals or Dark Side of The Moon, plus all the favourites. The shows will incorporate newly commissioned screen films for Animals, and updated screen films Dark Side of The Moon. These have been realised by former Pink Floyd keyboard tech Rob Neal who is developing all these films in high definition.

Eclipse have been joined by some of the best musicians in the business to help create this show, professional Singer/arranger Leigh Martyn Thomas, Guitarist Stephen Webb, Saxophone player Tony Sales, and new member ex-Brit Floyd & Australian Pink Floyd keyboard player, Rick Benbow.
