i own headline news but you would be hard pressed to pick David on the album.

i have a bootleg of Pete and David live in France 29th January 1986 which isn't too shabby - originally a tv broadcast i think.

Though it's not a bad song. It's the lines (or whatever that is) he sings and the guitar, if you could call that thing a guitar.

Paul McCartney's Run Devil Run album is a good listen. Gilmour's playing is great throughout, with 'No Other Baby' being a highlight for me. He plays it calmly and effortlessly, with beautiful phrasing. A big contrast with 'No More Lonely Nights' where he's overplaying all over the place. I don't know if he was into his cocaine habit back in 1984, but it really sounds like it on that track.

The live DVD from the Cavern gig featuring Run Devil Run material is worth watching too - Gilmour's battered Fender Esquire is in full effect!

Ahh... was just coming in to post that 'No More Lonely Nights' is my favourite from what I've heard, as it reminds me of 'Young Lust' guitar?

Bunking this thread upwards, I really liked David's soundtrack for Arthur C. Clarke's documentary "The Colours Of Infinity". It's out there on YouTube somewhere.
