David Gilmour hypothetical set list for a future tour or shows

Post by azza200 »

If David ever does a tour or some selected shows again what setlist would you like too see. What songs would you like him too drop and play instead. I would like it if he was too drop Shine On, Time, Great Gig, Coming Back To Life and maybe play the odd songs off his first two albums for a change.

This is a setlist i made the other day and both sets have a really good flow too them clocks in at 2 hours and 29 mins

Set 1
Signs Of Life ( DSOT 2019)
On An Island ( DG at Pompeii)
Yet Another Movie/ Round & Around ( DSOT original mix)
Murder (studio album)
Faces Of Stone ( DG at Pompeii)
The Blue ( DG at Pompeii)
Keep Talking (Pulse)
No Way (Studio album)
On The Turning Away (DSOT 2019)

Set 2
5AM (DG at Pompeii) alternates with Castellorizon
Rattle That Lock ( DG at Pompeii)
Learning To Fly (DSOT 2019)
Take A Breath (Live in Gdsank Bonus disc)
What's The Deal (Live In Gdsank)
Until We Sleep (Studio album)
Wish You Were Here (Live In Gdsank Bonus disc)
High Hopes (Pulse) alternates with Today
In Any Tongue (DG at Pompeii))
Dominoes (Live in Gdsank Bonus cd)
Sorrow (DG at Pompeii)
Run Like Hell (DG at Pompeii)

encore
One Of These Days (DG at Pompeii)

Green is the Colour would be nice...but I doubt he'd ever play it.

Whatever songs a tour may include, they will surely sound different after having sold most of his guitars that provided the classic sound.

He kept the closest replicas of the Black Strat for himself, and he has plenty others, including the sunburst Tele he wrote an performed "Dogs" with. I am curious which guitar he was referring to in the recent interview about his next album.

Cymbaline and Green is the Colour would be lovely additions to any of his shows. As well as Childhood's End. I've also always thought a number from Rick's Broken China album would go down well, such as Along the Shoreline. But I'm really pushing my luck with that final song.

I'd definitely love to hear him play that one too.

Highly doubt that Gilmour would ever perform those without Wright. However, there is a nice recording somewhere of he and Rick playing "Breakthrough" together, with Gilmour filling in for Sinead O'Connor.

Rick sings lead on that version, though I suppose David was filling in her her hairdo. It wasn't performed at the Meltdown Festival in 2001, but they played it on all five dates in 2002; some of his solos from the other nights are equally good, but they're all different.

Yep, that's my bad. For whatever reason I thought there was a version of "Breakthrough" with the Barn Jams on whatever live DVD those went with. Buggered if I can figure out where that idea came from

The Gilmour is chillin at the farm. I like the Von Trapped streams. A recent one he played "Dominoes." Little hard on his voice but I'll take it.
