Roger Waters - Dark Side of the Moon Tour DVD on the way
According to his manager, "Roger is working on a film of the TDSOTM [The Dark Side of the Moon] Live show but until it is finished there will be no release scheduled."

I'll get one simply because of "Sheep" and the (IMHO) improved stage/scenery/inflatables. Everything else shouldn't be too different than "In The Flesh" DVD.
One great thing that will certainly be dropped out is the Moon image in between the sets, growing larger and larger until it fills the whole screen. Great suspense builder.

The "On The Run" sequence was amazing. Don't know if he had that same sequence on his "In The Flesh" Tour.

Will it include a special documentary "Obscured by sound - Roger Waters and lip synching"?

I'm only waiting for an official The Wall live release. Let Rog and Dave work on that.
LOL at lipsynching. I noticed during the In the Flesh tour that he didn't reach the high notes and that he was singing with a backing tape.

I'd buy it. Not wanting to start another Waters vs Gilmour debate but I've always found the DG DVD's a bit of a snoozefest to be honest (I've not watched the Gdansk one yet) and still haven't managed to get through either Pulse or Remember That Night. The only Waters one I have is the In The Flesh one which I really enjoyed, lipsynch or not.

Well yes, the show itself was great. I've seen him on both "In The Flesh" and "The Dark Side" tours and I've enjoyed the latter more. The TV footage from a couple of shows had been available for download in the last couple of years, first of all the performances from Lisbon and Bogota, but neither one of those managed to capture the real spirit of the tour.

I went to the Dallas, TX concert of this tour and was totally blown away- it was my third Roger Waters concert and his best by far (I also really enjoyed the "In the Flesh" tour). Frankly, I've been waiting with frustration for him to come out with a DVD for the DSOTM Tour, and was just about to give up until I got notice of this DVD- I'm very happy indeed- Thanks Rog!!

Great show, to bad the video is missing almost half of the first set, and focus on close ups of the band playing, so you can't get to see the beauty of the whole light/cinematic show: the pyros on In The Flesh, the bubbles on SOYCD, flying pig on Sheep, the laser prism on Brain Damage...Hudini wrote:The TV footage from a couple of shows had been available for download in the last couple of years, first of all the performances from Lisbon and Bogota, but neither one of those managed to capture the real spirit of the tour.

I'd buy it for sure, but musically, classic Floyd stuff he did on ALL of his tours where below average.
He did create most of it, but he sure cant reproduce it.
So I would buy it, but mostly becouse of the ATD material which is great.

I was standing in the second or third row in Budapest when it went off. I could feel the heat on my face and it was almost unbearable. I remember thinking how the hell Mr. Fairweather-Low puts on with it, being the closest band member to it.danielcaux wrote:the pyros on In The Flesh
They were different. I like some of the stuff he did more than the same songs performed by the Gilmour Floyd.Damn!t wrote:classic Floyd stuff he did on ALL of his tours where below average
