poetry

Post by David Smith »

with all the live 8 stuff filling the pink floyd air why not unwind with some poetry... as written by Roger Water of course

Abbey Road - A Memory

Knocking back the heavy latch
How cool to take a peak
Into the vault cathedral still
Of studio 1.
Tiptoe across the parquet then
Strip back the canvas from
The grand black lacquer
Steinway standing there
And rasie the lid
With hiss and thud
Of felt response
And touch the keys
Which raised a thousand chills
Then strike one note
One asdic ping
Reverberating through the air
Where Menuhin and Miller once held sway
How cool to mingle with them there
In dancing motes that never fade away

but it's really dist... well, not exactly disturbing, but hmm I guess "I'd like to" call up "the world to" write poems, that's all. I just thought that among 35 grands people there was a few thousand or hundred of writers. Wouldn't say I'm offenced by the actual lack of them, but really surprised.
P.S. if you think THAT'S pathetic, then I dunno WHAT'S pathetic... okay, not my business
