Syd's ghost

Post by Atom Heart Sun »

As I was spreading my yummy black cherry topping onto my toast a vision of the near and far future occurred to me:

Now that Syd has officially gone, we're soon going to see all sorts of nutters coming out of the woodwork claiming his ghost is talking to them, you mark my words..

I thought I saw his ghost last night, then I realised that it was just the cover for Opel at the other side of the room.

Not possible, he visited me! He cannot be in two places at once, ghost or no ghost!

He said he was going to visit you when he was done visiting me. He just wanted to drop off some CDs he'd borrowed.

Wow... there's no way he ever could've known how many lives he touched- and deeply, at that.... Most of us have never even met the dude, yet he occupies our dreams, and soothes our souls... I think it's a fantastic tribute, in itself, that we all allow him into our subconscious minds, be it as a ghost or simply a dream...

Yup this thread scares me. At least Graham Coxon hasn't joined. Or if he has he can go off and sob into his oh-so-intellectual 1970s style glasses.

I actually did have a dream that he mysteriously turned up at my house for inexplicable reasons and began playing around with a laptop he had. Then the rest of his family appeared, and my house (with the layout and furnitire intact) mysteriously became the Barrett household. I was polite and didn't ask him about the Floyd, but he did mention having a fear of nasty basements which everyone wanted him to enter to go get something. He claimed it was an Autistic thing that receeded at age five but suddenly came back during what he referred to as his "stupid years" (which, according to him, began in the "1968 area").
He was quite an avid Age of Empires II player, and challenged me to a match (I was on his team). When a character from Megaman.EXE inexplicably and mysteriously appeared in the middle of the map and began slaughtering all the players (it was a robot, so of course it killed the 1500s-era armies in an instant) RKB was able to beat it by entering a cheat (called "how do you turn this on") that allowed him to access a sports car with machine guns on it (this cheat exists in the original game!).

Then the dream drifed into something involving dandruff, pornography, and oversleeping. Yeah, no more marathons of video games and Floyd before going to sleep at one in the morning.

Syd In Our Dreams

If Syd does visit any of us in our dreams he'd probably tell us to leave him alone.

That is hilarious, yet most likely true.
