Matilda Mother - Syd Barrett Tribute

Post by EddieBass »

Hello community.

I made a new video of this great song.
Can you guys just take a look?

Many people do not know the real bass sound in this album.

Here's an opportunity =)

Shine on !

Cool. I agree that a lot of people don't hear what bass actually plays on the first two Pink Floyd albums, later on Roger just seemed to focus more on the groove.

Keep up with the good work, Eddie. ;)

Thank you Sniffer and Hudini !

I hope you guys do not get bothered with my future threads.
My way to celebrate Pink Floyd is by making videos.
So, that's my contribution. hehehe

Thank you once again ! :-({|=

The stuff you play around 0:30 sounds pretty far off the proper notes. Good effort though, and nice tone.

If that's your plan then you could create a thread titled "A Bass Tribute to Pink Floyd" or something like that, and update it each time you make a new video, instead of flooding the boards with multiple bass tribute threads. I think that would make everyone happy, as all the videos would be easy to find in one single thread.

Interesting video by the way. I always enjoy to get to know more the little musical details in a song that sometimes go unnoticed on regular listening.

Hello Daniel.

I appreciate your comment.
But I do not consider my videos as "flood". My "bass covers" are a lot different from the many out there. I study the song, I try to understand and do edit the videos according to the song meaning.
All Pink Floyd foruns around the world I participate are kinda "almost dying", and my videos bring some Floyd fans a different view of the song I meda a cover. Or just bring them the thought of "awww, how I love this song, long time I didn't listen to it..."
Unfortunately many people think that I just come to a forum to make the mess.
It's not that. My main intention is to celebrate. I don't really care about "views" whatever. I enjoy the comments, reactions, etc.

About making one topic with all my videos, it would not work, I've tried that before. It would work the first days. But when I upload a new video and share in the thread, people would never get to see this new one, it would be lost in the middle, the ones who posted before would see the subject and think "well, I've seen that thread before, let me go to another..."

Anyways. I do not want to bother.

People who are interested in the future videos, can go to my channel and invite as friend or subscribe to the channel.

Perhaps you misunderstood me (although I'll give that "flood" was a little bit of an hyperbole), but I do enjoy your videos, just thought that having them all in one single thread would made more sense, both for people who enjoy them, like me, and also for those who don't. That way anyone interested could find all the covers in one place and could listen to them without having to navigate and search all over the forums for them.

It's kind of a tidy collector's mentality.
