With the exception of Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall: Live 1980-1981, this is my favorite live album. It is probably my favorite live DVD, too. I would like to see an In The Flesh (Live) Part 2...

I like this album actually. It's a chance to hear the Pink Floyd songs that haven't been performed in the Gilmour era e.g. Dogs, Welcome to the Machine. I'm less keen on hearing Doyle Bramhall singing though...that makes it a bit karaoke-ish.

I really like the DVD. I think it proves that you CAN do a "scaled down version of a Pink Floyd show" and people will still come.
You don't HAVE to have lasers and puppets and actors and all of that...just some screens, some slides and some films...oh yeah, and a decent band.
I think Graham Broad is an EXCELLENT drummer.
Bramhall annyoned me at first on the cd...but when I got the dvd and noticed that his guitar is STRUNG upside down, he started getting more respect from me.

I'm actually a big fan of Bramhall. He released a record a few years back that a friend of mine lent to me. It was not great, but still good, especially for new muzak.

Re: Roger Waters - In The Flesh (Live)
Like bits and pieces of it a lot, but the use of backing vocalists becomes a bit tiresome at points. The stuff from The Wall doesn't seem particularly dark anymore either and it would be nice to have a stripped down number or so too. Oh, and the reversion of Wish You Were Here is painful. But on the whole not bad, really like the way some of the Amused to Death stuff sounds

I think the live stuff is the most interesting here, and I'm one of the few (if anyone) that really likes Each Small Candle. The Floyd stuff can be heard in far better versions with Gilmour.

Re: Roger Waters - In The Flesh (Live)
I would give it a four. I prefer it to "PULSE" or "Delicate Sound", and definitely better than Roger 1990 Berlin Wall show.
A good choice of songs, and I am happy that he played more solo stuff than he has done recently. However, I think he should have included a few more songs from "Pros And Cons", and mixed the solo stuff with Floyd classics a bit more, rather than have a disc of each.
Good on him for doing "Dogs".
I wish he would release something from his 2007 tour; that would be even better.

Great versions of songs from "Amused to Death", but no KAOS material?

I think "The Tide Is Turning" would have fitted in quite well on that tour/album.

Sorry, I meant to say solo stuff instead of live stuff.

Re: Roger Waters - In The Flesh (Live)
Now don't forget the versions of "Set The Controls" and "Welcome To The Machine". IMHO, the first is way better than the original version, and the other one may not be better but it's certainly very good in a refreshing way.
