This is just terrific.

Especially the Pompeii stuff.

This is certainly the jewel in the crown for me with regards to The Early Years boxset. As mentioned above the Pompeii content is quite simply my favourite Pink Floyd content of the lot, both in audio and visual form. The rendition of A Saucerful of Secrets always sends chills down my spine, particularly during the Celestial Voices segment.

It's all down to personal preference. I find it needs a bit of bass added to the mix, which I apply on my amp most of the times I play it, as well as the remastered version of Obscured by Clouds on the other disc. But I find it crisp and clear, and still very enjoyable to listen to.

This was actually my first exposure to much of the Live at Pompeii stuff, so I'm pretty happy that it exists for that. I don't think I've heard a more intense rendition of "A Saucerful of Secrets" anywhere else!

one of my favourites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbg3G7Ca6zA

A Saucerful of Secrets runs an incredible 19 minutes and they go absolutely berserk in this one

This is hard for me to process, because there was a great video rental place not far from me growing up, and they had a whole "vault" of music-related videos on VHS, including Live at Pompeii and David Gilmour Live 1984 (which included the After the Floyd documentary). So back when all I had was Relics and Division Bell, I immediately watched everything Floyd-related that they had. The local second-hand CD shop also had the Pompeii, BBC, Fillmore West, and Music from The Wall bootlegs, so I was all set!

love the new OBC mix, though not so much the Pompeii one.
However, the songs are of course brilliant, though I miss Echoes opening and closing the album (as it is in the film).
But the real treat here is that AMAZING version of CWTA, Eugene. Not the ones in Pompeii, I mean the one from Brighton Dome. My fav ever version of this song!
