Perhaps I should post this in the "Things that DON'T annoy you" discussion: I agree 100% with you azza200!

(I'm sure this could work the other way around as well, but I've never seen it) American writers who write fanfiction for British fandoms, and then write something blatantly un-British happening. For instance, the other day I read something with a reference to 'biscuits' for breakfast - really annoyed me, because here, biscuits is a word for cookies and what Americans call biscuits pretty much don't exist. >.<

More Champagne Socialists in my news feed on Facebook trying to get me to march somewhere against Israel. I understand you are at university and therefore achingly desperate to be seen backing a cause and feel a raw hormonal burn of pain at all the injustices in the world, but seriously so it quietly elsewhere. "Bawwwww, the world is united in favour of Gaza". Fuck, its not much better than "burn the jews". At least they would be honest about their anti-semitism instead of hiding it behind faux empathy for the poor Gaza people.

The truth is, both sides like firing shit at eachother. They both like pissing all over human rights. Its a holy war so they both think they are right for divine reasons, not just a spat over a shitty patch of land.

And one of the posters I saw today said "We are all Gaza". What a fucking bullshit statement. Homosexuality is still illegal in Gaza, so that rules out a wee bit of the human population there. To turn this into a "dawwww, poor underdog plucky Gaza people" argument is just bullshit from people that have not bothered to read anything but bullshit socialist propaganda on the issue.

Fireworks. I fucking hate them. They're noisy, boring and just annoying. What's so great about them? And just because I walk away when the noise becomes unbearable, it hardly means I'm a sociopath! <.8.>

Honestly, I was like that about a year ago. I'm happy I have crossed that stage where I have to join such "groups" and try to feel important and part of the "bigger picture" and shit like that.

I really have no interest in what's happening between Israel and Palestine. I think too many people try to enter politics and so called revolutionary stuff without either the committment or sufficient knowledge to say anything meaningful. Moom, anyone?

My own spinelessness as a person. It is easy for me to rant online at people and about different topics, but it is impossible for me to express my frustrations about a person at a person. This is hardly ever an issue, but there is one person I work with who really gets on my nerves. They don't bully me, but rather they suffer from a uniquely tetchy hyper-mascualine insecurity that brushes off on anybody. The sort of person who answers "I knew that!" to anything you tell them. This person also has no sense of humour, and tends to take literally anything I, or anybody else, says. How petty is that? I think it is not their fault, but rather the fault of their brain chemistry. The deal is, brain chemistry or not, their behaviour makes them difficult to be around. My work situation is complex (I'm on a 3 month internship) so my bosses neither express their dislike for this other guy or show that they don't just lump me and him into the same category.

I wouldn't call it spinelessness exactly. I think most of us work or have worked alongside people we'd not piss on if they were on fire. But because it's a workplace you have to be professional and respectful and all that stuff. The problem with having a falling out with a workmate is that they don't vanish into the ether. You're stuck with the fecker. Be it having to share an office with them, meeting them in the canteen, having to work with them etc. It is annoying of course when I just wish they'd fall under a bus

I guess it is a perk of the job. I should be glad of my job really as I get on with the bosses. My last job was as a Postman whereby you are paid to repeat a menial task without much thought or planning.
